Restorative Yoga is one of the slowest forms of yoga. This relaxed pace of practice triggers the parasympathetic nervous system from the very first pose.

When the body is fully supported it will naturally relax and release pockets of physical and emotional tension. With the use of bolsters, blankets and pillows, Restorative Yoga is a deeply meditative practice allowing the practitioner to become fully present and bring balance to an often fast paced lifestyle.

The beauty about Restorative Yoga is that there is no ‘work’ involved. The guided meditations and pranayama (breath work) provide you with an opportunity to consciously allow your body to open and restore bringing you back to your true state of being.

Benefits of Restorative Yoga:

  • Enhances flexibility
  • Boosts immunity
  • Decreases the stress hormone cortisol which is often associated with weight gain, high blood pressure, and heart disease
  • Supports recovery from illnesses, injuries or emotional pain
