Toddler Friendly Energy Balls
Toddler Friendly Energy Balls
I make these little energy balls very regularly. The great thing about this recipe is that you can chop and change the ingredients depending on what you have in your cupboards. These type of treats also have many different names such as ‘protein balls’ or ‘bliss balls’ which are all basically the same thing but with different foods or supplements used in them. I make a big batch of these that last in the fridge for up to a week and my little boy loves them. This recipe is easy to make (kids can help if you can handle the mess!), has wholesome ingredients and is extremely versatile.
These healthy treats are vegan, gluten & sugar free. As always, I recommend opting for as many organic ingredients as possible to really ensure that no nasties end up in your treats.
Ingredients
1 cup of dates
1 cup of cashew nuts (or any other type of nut that tickles your fancy)
Handful raisins
3 tablespoons coconut oil melted
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
Pinch of salt
Method
In a food processor, add all ingredients and blend until nuts are ground up pretty small.
(Make sure everything is plugged before you proceed).
To make the balls use a spoon to scoop out some of the mix into your hands, roll into a ball shape and place on plate. Continue with the rest of the mix.
Place your round little treats into the fridge to set for up to one hour.
Enjoy!
